Job Summary
Automation Test Engineer role focused on building automation-first testing capabilities for cloud-native/containerised environments, integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines, and embedding security and compliance validation into delivery. Responsibilities include designing automation strategies across platform, infrastructure, and application layers; creating reusable test capabilities; validating Infrastructure-as-Code; generating actionable QA dashboards; and collaborating with DevSecOps, platform engineers, and architects to ensure testability and quality from the outset. Required skills include hands-on test automation across API/UI with Python/Java/Go, experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins), test frameworks (pytest, REST-assured, Postman/Newman, Playwright, Selenium), cloud/Kubernetes environments, Terraform or similar IaC tooling, and experience in secure/regulatory delivery contexts. Strong communication and willingness to work on-site in the UK (London area) are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience as an Automation Test Engineer or Software Engineer in Test
- CI/CD integration experience (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go
- Experience with API testing (pytest, REST-assured, Postman/Newman) and UI testing (Playwright, Selenium)
- Understanding of test pyramid, shift-left, continuous testing in DevSecOps
- Experience with GCP or similar cloud platforms and Kubernetes
- Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Terraform or similar
- Knowledge of secure software delivery and compliance testing
- Experience in secure, regulated, or government delivery environments
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder reporting
- Ability to work on-site in London three days per week
- UK residency with security clearance constraints
