Job Summary
Design, maintain, and deploy an automated scripting environment and test sequencer while creating and documenting programming APIs to facilitate rapid test development. Develop, document, and execute automated test scripts that characterize key performance parameters, performing detailed data analysis to diagnose and identify performance-related issues. Build advanced radio automated test systems, including user interfaces for device capability access, and operate programming test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators. Contribute to process improvement and planning for the ATE Team, spearheading design for testability with hardware and software developers. Program in VB.NET, C#, and Python within a product development environment focused on next-generation self-networking hand-held radios and modem technologies.
Required Qualifications
- BSEE, BSCE, BS Physics, or equivalent
- 1– 8 years' experience
- Knowledge of object-oriented design
- Knowledge of device drivers
- SW development skills with database and web experience
- Knowledge of common embedded Linux development tools (i.e. compilers, linkers and debuggers) and Linux subsystems
- Windows, Linux GUI and command line tools for software installation and diagnostics
- Shell scripting or more advanced programming skills
- The OSI 7 layers model
- Advanced knowledge of layers 1, 2, 3, & 4
- Knowledge of RF technology, radio design, and RF test equipment
- Hardware design skills and test fixture development using bed of nails
- Familiarity with IP networking
- Familiarity with Raspberry PI setup, configuration, and integration
- Familiarity with wireless telecommunications and cellular radio systems standards (FDMA,TDMA)
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency
- Security clearance or the ability to obtain one
- Able to frequently sit, stand, walk, use hands to fingers, handle or feel, reach within hands and arm's length, stoop, kneel, and crouch, talk and hear
- Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time; frequently required to use office equipment such as PC, printer, telephone, etc.
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Mobile Ad-hoc Networked (MANET) radios and military communications
- Experience developing embedded software using C/C++ on a Linux platform
- Layers 5-7
- Programming in VB.NET, C#, and Python in a product development environment
- Test infrastructure development to include programming API's, user interfaces, data collection, and data post processing
- Operating and programming test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, radio emulators, network analyzers, RF switch matrixes, and multimeters
- Automated test case design and execution
- The process involved in generating a test plan from engineering designs and subsequently developing and supporting a system of software test code for units under test, including the development of a test database
