Job Summary
Automation Technician provides hands-on technical support for automated processes, diagnosing and troubleshooting PLCs, vision systems and other control systems, performing preventive maintenance, supporting new equipment installations and integrations, in a high-precision manufacturing facility. The role requires attention to detail, commitment to quality, flexibility, effective communication, a desire to learn, and the ability to work safely. Primary duties include diagnosing and troubleshooting PLCs, vision systems, and other automated control systems; troubleshooting equipment problems and maintenance; supporting internal projects; and applying knowledge of motors, drives, sensors, and control interfaces in a manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or certificate in electrical field of study or equivalent experience
- Proficiency with PCs and Rockwell Automation
- PLC programming, variable-speed drives, vision systems, servo-systems, industrial sensors and Relay Ladder Logic
- Panel-view, Factory Talk, or other operator interface programming
- Experience completing and documenting preventive and non-routine maintenance
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
