Job Summary
Troubleshoot automated production equipment, including injection molding machines, robots, and conveyors. Perform preventive maintenance on automation systems and support setup, testing, and startup of robotic machinery. Assist with basic PLC and HMI troubleshooting, install sensors and actuators, and document repairs and maintenance activities. Monitor equipment performance to report issues affecting production, quality, or safety, and work with maintenance teams to minimize downtime. Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, and maintain a clean work area while wearing required PPE. Participate in continuous improvement projects to increase equipment reliability and production efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certificate in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, Robotics, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on technical experience
- Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work safely around industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with industrial robots, PLCs, sensors, and HMIs
- Internship, co-op, or vocational training in a manufacturing environment
- Exposure to injection molding or automated manufacturing equipment
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs
- Experience with industrial robots such as FANUC, ABB, or Yaskawa
