Job Summary
Automation Technician at JFE Shoji Power Canada (Burlington facility) responsible for setting up and maintaining manufacturing assets used in core manufacturing processes, coordinating tooling changes, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. Duties include machine setup/changeovers, assisting operators with machine settings, testing programs/trials, monitoring tooling wear, performing routine machine maintenance, inspecting components for quality, maintaining a clean tooling area, and documenting changes and maintenance. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, 2-5 years of manufacturing experience (transformer manufacturing or metalworking preferred), familiarity with die setting, stamping press operations, tooling maintenance, and CMMS; plus ability to communicate effectively, use Microsoft Office, and work on a continental rotating 12-hour shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years of experience as a machine operator/manufacturing environment
- Experience operating Georg software is an asset
- Knowledge of die setting techniques, stamping press operations, and tooling maintenance
- Mechanical Aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Capability to follow technical drawings and part specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams) and CMMS
