Job Summary
Automation Technician at Jabil responsible for planning, mapping, sequencing and performing assembly of complex electrical, mechanical and pneumatic robotic equipment from verbal and written instructions. Performs layout of mechanical, pneumatic and electrical schematics. Performs diagnostic troubleshooting on assembly automation equipment; repairs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic systems; maintains and updates robot programs and manuals; sets up production lines and assists in pre-production runs; supports safety and quality programs; maintains production maintenance schedules and parts inventory; provides input to engineering on machine improvements; coordinates with Maintenance and Process Technicians to sustain daily operations. Key skills include reading complex drawings, using precision instruments, and PLC ladder logic programming for automation systems.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to use advanced trades mathematics
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments
- Ability to program and troubleshoot PLC (programmable logic controllers) and ladder logic
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics
