Job Summary
Maintain highly specialized, robotic-controlled, automated fastening machines that assemble aircraft at the Boeing South Carolina facility. Serve as the internal subject matter expert for control systems, including Siemens PLCs, HMIs, motion control, sensors, and electromechanical devices. Apply expertise in electronics, electrical circuits, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and programming to support new equipment introductions and system troubleshooting. Travel to customer sites for machine commissioning and diagnostic support. Maintain logs and written records of all duties performed.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent
- Technical Certificate or Associates/BS in Electrical/Mechanical/Controls/Industrial Engineering or Mechatronics
- 3+ years of experience within the industrial automation industry or equivalent experience -- machine tool maintenance experience
- 3+ years of experience with Siemens Step 7 PLC troubleshooting
- Siemens 840D series CNC troubleshooting experience
- PLC programming experience
- NEC Certification
- Strong fundamental understanding of electrical design practices

- Extensive experience in IEC61131 (PLC programming languages)
- CNC troubleshooting experience
- Thorough knowledge of NC Controllers: Siemens 840D or WINCC
- Experienced in troubleshooting electrical control panels
- Strong communication skills & ability to interact with teams, clients, and vendors
- Confidence when communicating with customers from management to maintenance technicians
- Ability to analyze and diagnose automation problems
- Experience using precision measurement equipment (i.e. Dial indicators, calipers, etc.)
- Must be able and willing to work weekends (OVERTIME)
- Experience with aerial platforms and working at heights
- Ability to lift and move materials or equipment weighing up to approximately 40 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and repetitively climb stairs within a manufacturing environment
Desired Qualifications
- Siemens Step 7 PLC troubleshooting & Siemens 840D series CNC troubleshooting experience (ideal candidate will have PLC programming experience)
