Job Summary

Lead a team to troubleshoot, repair, modify, and maintain Allen Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and other control systems at the Promontory Utah facility. Perform software control, programming, and hardware replacement tasks while conducting test readings with analog signal testers, oscilloscopes, and multimeters. Assist in developing practices to minimize downtime and increase reliability of automated plant equipment, including retrofitting obsolete components and working with high-voltage systems. Requires 5–10+ years of experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent training in Electronics Technology
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work on equipment, including climbing ladders to access equipment on roofs in all weather, using man lifts and scissor lifts when necessary
  • Ability to work in hazardous environments including Electrical Cabinets and around Energetic Material
  • Understand and follow electrical schematics proficiently
  • Troubleshoot/Diagnose machine electrical control systems hardware (e.g. PLC, Servos, VFD's, RTD's, TC's, etc.)
  • Understand PLC ladder logic and HMI logic for troubleshooting equipment (Allen Bradley PLCs Preferred)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • 5+ years working in industry as an electronic technician
  • 10+ years working in industry as an electronic technician
  • Experience working with 480 Volt / 3 phase equipment
  • Knowledge and experience using oscilloscopes and various high voltage measurement test equipment
  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Retrofit obsolete components and systems including controls
  • Familiarity of NDT systems, CNC machines, process/instrumentation controls, camera systems and fire alarm systems
