Job Summary
Automation Solutions Engineer responsible for leading the design of complex automation solutions across packaging automation, material handling interfaces, and system integrations. Shapes technical architectures from customer requirements, guides integration with warehouse ecosystems (AS/RS, robot picking, goods-to-person), and consults on box design and dimensioning. Develop specifications, assess feasibility and risk, and create ROI/COI-driven business cases. Engage in pre-sales, customer meetings, site visits, and workshops; present concepts and trade-offs to technical and executive audiences. Educate partners (consultants, integrators, 3PL) on portfolio value; coordinate technical aspects of key-account management. Collaborate with project managers and field teams to resolve issues and ensure alignment with engineering standards. Maintain current knowledge of automation technologies and contribute feedback to product management/R&D. Travel required up to ~25–45%. CAD experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechatronics, or related field)
- Extensive experience in automation, material handling, or industrial systems engineering
- Proven experience designing and delivering complex automated systems
- Strong understanding of Industrial automation and system integration
- Controls architecture (PLC/HMI concepts)
- Mechanical and electrical system interfaces
- Customer-facing, solutions-oriented role experience
- Ability to travel up to ~25–45%
