Job Summary
The Automation Project Mechanical Engineer at Mazak Corporation is responsible for designing and executing industrial automation solutions, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, and robotics. The role involves project design reviews, technical proposal support, and creating necessary documentation such as mechanical drawings and operation manuals. Candidates should possess experience in industrial automation, proficiency in CAD software, and effective communication skills, with a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. Travel of 40%-50% is required for installation and project support.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in a related technical field plus two years of experience in a machine tool related field, or five to seven years' experience in a related position
- Working knowledge of industrial automation, preferably robot automation and machine tending systems
- Knowledge of mechanical designs and design techniques
- Computer literate with knowledge of computer aided design software techniques (MS Office, 2D and 3D CAD techniques - SolidWorks preferred)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in related field is preferred
- Knowledge of robot programming and machine tending / integration is highly desirable
