Automation Project Manager-Manufacturing Automation

Job Summary
Lead cross-functional automation projects from concept through implementation, partnering with Operations, Engineering, Finance, and external vendors to build business cases, validate proof-of-concepts, and manage scope, timeline, and budget. Drive change management on the floor by developing work instructions, training teams, and tracking benefits realization for 3–12 months post-deployment. Monitor vendor performance, coordinate technical reviews, and provide executive-level reporting on project health and mitigation plans. Pilot emerging technologies like robotics and AI/ML to achieve 20–50% cycle time improvements while supporting Value Stream Mapping activities to identify and prioritize high-ROI use cases.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- 3–5 years experience leading operations or industrial projects (automation, packaging lines, intralogistics, or production improvements)
- Proven record delivering projects in live operations with measurable KPIs
- Strong stakeholder management and on-floor presence; comfortable in noisy, fast-moving environments
- Familiar with CAPEX governance and vendor/integrator management
- Good communication and presentation skills, ability to interact at senior levels
- Travel: 25–50% (variable), with occasional peaks up to ~75% during deployments/POCs
Desired Qualifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) is highly preferred
