Automation Project Manager

Job Summary
Lead full lifecycle of automation capital projects in a cement manufacturing facility, including scope definition, feasibility studies, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and commissioning. Manage budgets and expenditures; coordinate external contractors, system integrators, and vendors to meet technical specifications and timelines. Develop and maintain documentation such as functional specifications, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and operator training manuals. Promote a culture of safety and compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies. Requires 5–7+ years in industrial automation with a Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred. Travel ~25%; relocation assistance available. Strong communication and leadership skills to drive cross-functional alignment and deliver complex multi-disciplinary projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field
- 5–7+ years of progressive experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering
- 3+ years of dedicated project management experience managing capital projects (preferably exceeding $1M+ in scope)
- Experience with PLC/DCS platforms (Siemens PCS7/S7, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, ABB 800xA)
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, Modbus)
- Ability to read, interpret, and create electrical schematics, loop drawings, and P&IDs
- Familiarity with plant historians and data analytics tools (OSIsoft PI)
- PMP certification or equivalent preferred
- Must be eligible to work in USA
- Travel 25% (estimated)
