Job Summary
Maintain unit-dose medications and Omnicell IV automated equipment for daily dispensing, performing aseptic preparation, cleaning, and advanced troubleshooting. Monitor and order medications and consumable supplies to ensure optimal inventory levels while adhering to safe handling procedures for hazardous drugs. Complete negative fingertip and media fill sampling, report unresolved equipment issues, and act as a liaison to address customer concerns and maintain high satisfaction. Requires active pharmacy technician certification, TN state license, sterile IV compounding experience, and COV-19 vaccination. Shifts run M-Th 4-10 hours with possible 6am-1am coverage.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Active National Pharmacy Technician Certificate (PTCB/NHA-CPhT or EXCPT)
- Active State Board of Pharmacy Technician License / Registration with the State of TN
- Have sterile IV Compounding and cleanroom experience
- COV-19 vaccination
- Must be able to commute to work at this site at 1 Medical Park Blvd., Bristol, TN 37620
- Possible working hours 6am-1am
- 3 staggered shifts possible start times 6am, 8am, 12pm
- Capable of standing for several hours at a time
- Potential exposure to hazardous drugs
- Must be able to travel out of state for training
- Able to lift 25 – 30 lbs
- Good organizational skills, accurate, reliable and efficient
- Demonstrated customer-facing skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with mechanical equipment
- Working knowledge of computer hardware, PC Windows
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced Troubleshooting Skills with automation devices
- SME for Pharmacy Services department
- 2+ year of IV Compounding experience
- Hospital / Inpatient Pharm Tech experience
- Knowledge of safe handling of hazardous medications
- Proficient in the use of PPE and hand hygiene techniques
- Working knowledge of sterile environment requirement
- Working knowledge of pharmacy automation
