Job Summary
Lead and coordinate daily automation department operations across Georgia and Alabama divisions, driving zero-injury safety culture through close collaboration with the Safety Manager. Develop, implement, and monitor standardized processes to enhance efficiency in controls service and project teams while championing a customer-centric approach via proactive communication and problem-solving. Manage departmental resources including personnel, scheduling, forecasting, and budgeting to optimize efficiency and achieve financial targets. Establish and report key performance indicators, track metrics, and present findings to the General Manager. Work with sales, engineering, and project managers to propose projects and review estimates. Conduct annual performance evaluations and mentor team members to foster a collaborative environment. Ensure adherence to all company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledgeable in multiple control manufacturer systems and have some training or certifications, including Schneider, Tridium Niagara, & Distech.
- Will be required to perform the physical duties of a technician to assist with complex jobs in the field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in the automation industry, with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
- Proven track record of driving customer satisfaction, achieving business growth, and improving profitability.
- Strong understanding of the controls service and project-based business models within the automation sector.
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to utilize company business systems to track and monitor key metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be willing to travel within the Georgia and Alabama divisions as needed.
- Must be able to climb ladders.
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing over 50 pounds.
- Must be able to identify wire colors for electrical work.
- Must be able to work in confined or elevated spaces.
- Must be able to work in tight or enclosed areas.
- Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times.
