Job Summary
The Automation/Mechatronics Technician role involves diagnosing and programming various robotics and PLC systems, installing and maintaining electrical control systems, and resolving equipment malfunctions in collaboration with other departments. The position requires proficiency in PLC programming, experience with Seimens TIA Portal, and HMI programming. Candidates should be adept at troubleshooting electrical circuits and using electronic testing equipment. This role also necessitates good communication skills, the ability to work a flexible schedule, and readiness for domestic and international travel.
Required Qualifications
- General diagnostic and programming of Yaskawa and Universal robots
- Installation and maintenance of electrical control systems
- Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions
- Collaborate with other departments
- Safe and timely repairs to equipment
- Proper documentation including system drawings
- Good understanding of PLC systems
- Experience with Seimens TIA Portal
- HMI basic programming experience
- Specification, installation, and troubleshooting of thermocouples, pressure transducers, and proximity sensors
- Proficient troubleshooting of electrical/electronic circuits
- Proficient with electronic testing equipment
- Ability to use a Windows based PC and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Seimens variable frequency AC drives and reduced voltage starters
- Experience with Seimens and Festo servo/stepper systems
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Good communication skills
