Job Summary
Automation Mechanic/Automation Technician responsible for inspection, testing and diagnosing electrical/hydraulic/diesel construction equipment repair in a heavy-industrial manufacturing setting. Duties include hazard assessments, hoisting & rigging, providing maintenance support to a continuous process plant, performing a range of maintenance from simple repairs to complex rebuilds, mentoring junior technicians, conducting root cause failure analysis, proactive issue identification and repair, troubleshooting, problem solving, and ensuring timely completion to meet production commitments. Experience with pneumatics, conveying systems, air compressors, natural gas systems, hydraulics, dust collectors, high-volume fans, pumps, piping, rigging, power transmission (motors, gearboxes), welding/fabricating, and industrial controls is required.
Required Qualifications
- 3yrs+ experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
- Strong working knowledge on safe work practices (such as lock-tag-try, fall protection, and hazard assessments)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision independently or in a group
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
