Job Summary
Provide automation expertise for small to medium projects, including continuous improvement, retrofits, and design challenges for process equipment. Troubleshoot and support delivery of future enhancements while maintaining technical solutions that ensure minimal downtime and data integrity. Manage departmental projects to meet production schedules, ensuring appropriate controls, approvals, and validation requirements are implemented. Lead junior team members, escalate issues to senior management, and partner with Manufacturing and Quality teams to drive resolution of process issues. Comply with cGMP, OSHA, and regulatory requirements by overseeing investigations, deviations, CAPA closures, and inspection readiness. Maintain stable computing infrastructure and digital software applications across multiple manufacturing facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Science or related technological field
- 2+ years of experience in the automation field
- Master's degree with 1+ years of experience in the automation field
- Direct experience with regulated environments (i.e. cGMP, OSHA, EPA)
- Required manufacturing operations support on a rotating on call 24/7 basis
- Requires working in an industrial manufacturing environment including gowning
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with DeltaV automation
- Experience with multiple computerized systems (Ignition, Werum PAS-X, PI, etc.)
- Experience with SCADA/PLC systems such as Rockwell Factory Talk/RSLogix, Honeywell
- Understanding of network infrastructure
- Experience with systems/network/validation, preferable in the chemical, pharmaceutical, foods, or other process industries
- Electrical Engineer or Chemical Engineer
- Experienced in establishment of safe practices in a cGMP environment
- Understanding of virtual environments, VMWare, Hyper-V
- Proficient working with computer programs/applications such as Windows, VBA, MS Word, Excel, Access, etc.
- Strong organizational skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and be accountable
- Proven technical and analytical skills to quickly resolve automation system issues
