Automation Engineer - Production (m/f/d)

Job Summary
Design, program, and operate automation solutions to transition manual manufacturing processes to scalable production. Analyze existing production processes to identify automation potential and derive practical improvements; develop, program, and commission PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions to increase efficiency and scalability. Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Development teams in introducing new technologies and systems; ensure stability, safety, and continuous optimization of automated systems; contribute to the digitalization of manufacturing (Industry 4.0, machine connectivity, data integration); establish and further develop standards and best practices for automation and process safety; train colleagues to build automation expertise across the team.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable qualification with relevant practical experience
- Solid knowledge of PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, and experience with industrial networks and automation standards
- Strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and a responsible working style
- Team-oriented communication skills, ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary projects
- Fluency in English; German is a plus
