Automation Engineer II

Job Summary

Design, code, test, debug, and document PLC, HMI, and DCS automation systems while supervising vendor modifications and developing specifications. Create and maintain cGMP-compliant documentation, including SOPs and electrical schematics, and troubleshoot integrated hardware such as robotics, vision systems, and filling equipment. Support validation per regulatory guidance, ensure data integrity for 21CFR Part 11 compliance, and provide training to operations personnel. Participate in process risk reviews and interpret P&ID drawings and system integration logic. This role supports production at the Beloit campus in a 24-hour facility, requiring up to 15% availability for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience with a concentration in Automation or Process Control
  • Knowledge of automation hardware design and maintenance
  • Specific knowledge of Siemens automation products
  • Experience in a regulated pharmaceutical/medical device manufacturing environment
  • Ability to complete the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification
  • Availability to provide support during evenings, nights, weekends, and some holidays, generally up to 15%
