Job Summary
Programs, installs, tests, and maintains robots and automated components while assisting engineers with automation system development. Troubleshoots defects and bugs, performs repairs and preventative maintenance, and conducts field trials to ensure appropriate operation. Designs simple electronic control systems, builds and installs control systems, and programs PLCs with associated control systems. Reads equipment schematics and assists in commissioning new automation installations, documenting actions and findings in reports. Performs manual tasks according to established procedures within the GD Lincoln West facility on an alternate 12-hour weekend shift from Friday morning to Sunday evening.
Required Qualifications
- Vocational/Technical Training Degree
- 2-5 years' experience
- Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Oral and written communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Detail oriented
- Problem-solving skills
- Mathematic skills
- Computer skills
- Technical skills
- Leadership skills
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds
- May need to stand for long periods of time
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery
- May be requested to work a different shift
