Job Summary
Lead automation and digitization initiatives for BASF's refining catalyst manufacturing plants; design, develop, and manage database systems, perform health checks and performance tuning, ensure data security and integrity, model data requirements, and create dashboards/reports in collaboration with application developers and external service providers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience as an Automation Engineer, Database Developer, Database Architect, or similar role
- Familiarity with Python or C# (preferred)
- Understanding of database security, backup, and recovery
- Strong problem-solving and collaborative skills
- Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Basic understanding of digitization and OT/IT with low-code programming experience
- Experience with database systems (Oracle, SQL Server) and SQL/data modeling preferred
