Job Summary
Automation & Controls Technician for SpaceX Infrastructure & Utility (Starship) leads installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of automation, control, and SCADA systems for Starbase infrastructure and utilities. Role involves deploying PLC/HMI/SCADA configurations, updating electrical schematics, assembling NFPA/NEC/UL-compliant control panels, configuring power and utility controls, documenting procedures, auditing processes, developing statements of work, and mentoring junior technicians. Requires hands-on experience with industrial automation, control devices (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, SEL), SCADA applications, ladder logic/IEC-61131, ITAR considerations, and strong problem-solving, communication, and safety practices. Travel to SpaceX facilities as needed; on-site work in hazardous environments with PPE; lift up to 50 lbs; valid driver’s license; ITAR eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- 1+ years of hands-on experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining automation and controls systems.
