Job Summary
Automation & Controls Engineer responsible for designing, programming, and commissioning control systems for SCADA/HMI/PLC applications. Responsibilities include developing PLC/HMI/SCADA programs, designing control panels and selecting components, creating system specifications and sequences of operations, performing system commissioning and field support, coordinating with discipline leads and clients, scheduling and meeting deadlines, promoting programming scope to clients, mentoring junior controls engineers, and maintaining full project lifecycle documentation. Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or CS, 5+ years of applicable experience, proficiency with PLC/robot programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Modicon, GE; Rockwell Kinetix; Fanuc), HMI programming (Ignition, Wonderware, Cimplicity, FTViewSE), software development (C#, VB.NET, SQL, JavaScript), and knowledge of networking. The position involves domestic and international travel and is based in Sparks, NV with an office location in the US.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university or equivalent experience
- 5+ years’ applicable experience
- Experience successfully leveraging technology
- Track record of success with documented results
- Virtualization and Cloud Computing
- Batch process experience
- PLC Programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Modicon, GE)
- Motion (Rockwell Kinetix) and Robot (Fanuc) programming
- HMI Programming (Ignition, Wonderware, Cimplicity, FTViewSE)
- Software Development (C#, VB.NET, SQL, JavaScript)
- Knowledge of computer configuration and networking
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
