Job Summary

Automation & Controls Engineer needed for a Systems Integrator near Chicago. Hybrid/Remote Possible. Responsibilities include developing ControlLogix programs and FTView applications, designing architectures for industrial process control systems, creating project estimates, executing projects (design, configuration, commissioning), risk mitigation through prototyping and testing, and training/knowledge sharing. Requires BS in Engineering and experience with Studio 5000, P&ID/electrical schematics, and strong customer engagement skills. Travel ~20%.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical preferred)
  • Experience with Studio 5000: interpret, debug, and create Ladder Logic, Sequential Function Charts, Phase Logic, and Function Block Diagrams
  • Ability to read P&ID and electrical schematics
  • Customer engagement and management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Self-starter with ability for independent work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • General IT and troubleshooting skills (Windows, networks, software & hardware)
  • Ability/Willingness to travel approximately 20%
  • Nice-to-haves: two+ years of technical application development; experience in Pharmaceutical or Chemical industries; proficiency with ControlLogix programming; familiarity with FTBatch or GE Digital iBatch; experience with GE Proficy, Rockwell, Inductive Automation, or Sepasoft; Parsec Automation; AutoCAD; Java, Python, Visual Basic, C#, MS SQL, OS
