Job Summary
Automation Control Technician responsible for identifying opportunities where automated systems will reduce labor, improve quality, and improve ergonomics and/or safety. Coordinates project launch, places orders for equipment/services, tracks progress, and interfaces with Management to anticipate manufacturing requirements. Applies PLCs, servomotors, robotics and sensors to improve automated production processes; performs hands-on electrical, mechanical and automation troubleshooting; designs, installs, programs and commissions small automation control systems. Documents time/materials by project, makes recommendations on automation equipment and fixtures, and train/support maintenance staff on automation concepts and troubleshooting. Monitors routine demand and maintenance requirements to sustain improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Strong proven practical experience with PLCs, servomotors, robotics and sensors
- Hands-on electrical, mechanical and automation troubleshooting
