Job Summary
Lead Automation & Control Software Engineer responsible for leading the execution of software projects within the subsea control production systems department. Develop and maintain PLC and/or SCADA applications, troubleshoot, manage source control, and ensure code quality. Report progress, collaborate with global engineering teams to meet contract specifications and regulatory requirements. Own key deliverables such as System FDS, Software Requirements Specifications, Software Design Documents, and system test procedures. Prepare and review requirements, design specifications, software product requirements, and interface specifications; review test requirements in line with Codes of Practice. Drive cross-project standardization and efficient use of engineering resources. Useful for a role in a global energy-technology company delivering innovative subsea automation solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Science-based discipline, or possess equivalent experience
- Automation experience with PLC and HMI/SCADA technologies (Twincat Soft PLC and Ignition SCADA preferred)
- Hands-on experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP, CAN, Ethernet UDP, and OPC UA
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented design principles and modern software development methodologies
- Understanding of software development processes with track record of delivering small-scale engineering or automation projects
- Analytical skills to support product development and problem-solving
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
- Willingness to travel to company-assigned sites
