Job Summary
Automation & Controls Engineer role focusing on designing, programming, and maintaining automation and electrical control systems for manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities include programming and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and variable frequency drives to optimize production, engineering leadership to mentor junior electricians, planning and executing automation projects from start to finish, pursuing process improvements to reduce downtime, standardizing software/hardware architectures for automation projects, and shaping the technology roadmap for immediate and long-term growth. The role emphasizes safety, adherence to food safety and USDA guidelines, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative automation solutions. Relocation package is available. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 2+ years of controls experience are required; experience with Rockwell and Siemens platforms and related hardware/software is highly valued. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 2+ years of controls engineering experience or related; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Industrial Manufacturing experience
- Experience troubleshooting and programming Rockwell PLC (RsLogix 500, RsLogix 5000, and Studio 500), HMI (FactoryTalk Studio ME and SE), Powerflex drives, Kenetix Servo drives, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Connected Components Workbench
- Experience troubleshooting hardwired systems and print reading (US and European style prints)
- Must be comfortable working with low (24v DC) to High (4160v AC) voltages
