Job Summary
Translate electrical and plumbing schematics into configuration files and automation scripts for production-ready systems; own configuration changes during build and test; diagnose root cause across software, electrical, and mechanical interfaces; evaluate customer requirements during pre-quote and order phases; improve configuration architectures and scripting templates; develop and maintain application installation and imaging scripts; execute software unit and system-level testing to validate configurations; collaborate with Manufacturing, Field Service, and Customer Support to resolve issues; requires hands-on experience configuring automation systems in manufacturing, PLC or PC-based control systems, and ability to read electrical schematics and control documentation; competent in ladder logic, function block, or structured text; strong at explaining technical issues to stakeholders and working in deadline-driven environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering (highly preferred)
- Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent) with related practical experience
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience configuring or programming automation systems in a manufacturing or capital equipment environment
- Demonstrated experience with PLC or PC-based control systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control documentation
- Willingness to work on-site 3–5 days per week in Horsham, PA
- Experience developing automation scripts using ladder logic, function block, or structured text
- Skilled in configuring and troubleshooting I/O, sensors, actuators, and basic motion systems
- Diagnoses system-level issues by correlating software behavior with electrical and mechanical states
- Comfortable working in deadline-driven manufacturing environments where configuration accuracy is critical
- Effective at explaining technical issues and solutions to manufacturing, service, and customer stakeholders
- Administrator-level proficiency with Microsoft Windows systems
- Semiconductor or advanced packaging equipment experience is a strong advantage
