Job Summary
Automation Applications Engineer responsible for designing and developing motion control and automation systems (motors, drives, stages, controllers), supporting customer-facing technical discussions, translating requirements into engineered solutions and BOMs, configuring automation components with vendor tools, and providing training and technical support. Collaborates with sales teams, suppliers, and internal groups across pre-sales to post-sales lifecycle; creates documentation, drawings, and tools to streamline quoting and project execution; stays current on automation technologies and contributes to marketing content and product positioning. Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent) required; experience with motion control, PLCs, and industrial automation preferred; strong multi-project management and communication skills expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong understanding of automation systems, motion control, or electromechanical design
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
- Basic programming and software knowledge
- Experience with motion control systems, PLCs, and industrial automation preferred
- Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., C++, Python, .NET) preferred
