Job Summary
Execute all phases of machine construction, including assembling components from drawings, debugging entire machines, and performing onsite troubleshooting and service work. Provide direction to other builders, record changes to assemblies, and fill commissioning reports while interfacing with engineering and other departments for modifications. Contribute to mechanical designs for fixtures, tooling, and cell layouts, and offer cost reduction suggestions for rework items. Must be able to travel as per project requirements within the US and Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed electrician with mechanical skills
- Licensed millwright with electrical knowledge
- Technician/technologist/engineer with a penchant for hands on work
- Proficiency in assembly and/or wiring of machine components
- Expertise in pneumatic design and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical devices
- Mechanical knowledge and experience (design, tooling, fixtures, experience with a machine builder, etc.)
- 5+ years of experience in machine building
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of the proper use and selection of tools and equipment
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to travel
- Ability to travel within the US and Canada
Desired Qualifications
- Team player who also possesses the drive and responsibility to work autonomously when required
- Proficiency in fabrication including welding, machining, and control wiring
- Exposure to robotic applications
- Motivation and passion for working with people and overcoming challenges through collaboration and a win-win paradigm
- Ability to work well with a variety of different people from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent interpersonal skills
