Job Summary

Own and develop the site's automation and digitalization strategy aligned with business objectives, leading the "Factory of the Future" roadmap to improve productivity and operational efficiency. Define automation standards, governance, and lifecycle management processes while evaluating emerging technologies including Industry 4.0, Industrial IoT, and AI-enabled solutions. Lead performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of automation systems across manufacturing, packaging, and utilities, driving standardization and best practices. Coach and develop a team of automation and controls engineers through succession planning and skills development programs. Ensure compliance with GMP, quality, safety, and cybersecurity requirements while managing relationships with automation suppliers and system integrators.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 8+ years of experience in automation, controls, or industrial systems within a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience leading automation, controls, or digital manufacturing teams
  • Strong expertise in industrial automation systems including PLCs, SCADA, HMI, industrial networks, instrumentation, motion control, and machine safety
  • Experience defining automation standards, technology roadmaps, and lifecycle management strategies
  • Understanding of OT cybersecurity principles and industrial network architectures
  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies, Industrial IoT, advanced analytics, AI, and digital manufacturing solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and deliver operational improvements through automation

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience within FMCG, consumer healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, food, beverage, or other regulated manufacturing environments
  • Proven success delivering business value through digital transformation and automation initiatives
  • Experience managing automation obsolescence programs and technology upgrades
  • Track record of improving manufacturing performance through automation and data-driven decision making
  • Experience supporting GMP-compliant manufacturing operations
  • Strong problem-solving capability with experience leading root cause investigations and resolving complex operational challenges
  • Experience presenting technical strategies and investment proposals to senior leadership teams
  • Knowledge of engineering standards, machinery safety, and statutory compliance requirements within manufacturing environments
