Job Summary
Diagnose and resolve automation failures while designing strategies to improve software, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical system reliability. Lead system-level initiatives for hardware, software, and upgrades, and analyze data to identify efficiency improvements. Mentor engineering teams and maintenance technicians on troubleshooting common failure modes, maintaining spare parts, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry regulations. Serve as a technical expert for complex issues and collaborate with vendors to optimize parts availability. This role supports cross-functional teams at our Des Plaines facility, requiring five years of manufacturing automation experience and proficiency in PLC programming.
Required Qualifications
- 5 Years of experience in manufacturing automation
- Proficiency in programming PLC's (Siemens and AB), Fanuc robots, and servo control systems
- Hands-on experience diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatics and control failures
- Extensive knowledge of reading machinery schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills with automatic equipment
- Ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally
- Candidates local to the Chicago area
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
