Job Summary
Install and service low energy automatic door operators in commercial and institutional environments. Install, adjust, and troubleshoot automatic door systems to ensure safe, reliable operation and ADA/ANSI A156.19 compliance. Mount operators, arms, and hardware to doors/frames; configure activation devices (push plates, wave-to-open sensors); run and terminate low-voltage wiring for activation, safety devices, and access control; connect to 120VAC power; adjust opening speed, closing force, hold-open time, etc.; perform field testing and troubleshooting; maintain clean, organized job sites and accurate service documentation (work performed, warranty claims, invoicing details, and project records); collaborate with internal teams for seamless project execution. Role may include support for access control systems and other project-related work; occasional regional travel.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in door hardware, automatic operators, low-voltage installation, or related field
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with doors, frames, and hardware
- Basic understanding of low-voltage wiring and electrical connection
- Ability to read and interpret installation instructions and job drawings
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and ladders/lifts
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
