Job Summary
Operate and monitor automated packaging equipment, including pouch fillers and form & fill machines, while setting up machinery per product specifications and performing efficient changeovers. Monitor machine performance throughout production runs, adjust settings as required, and identify or resolve minor faults by escalating complex issues. Produce finished goods according to daily plans, conduct quality checks on pack presentation, seal integrity, dating, and weight accuracy, and complete all production records. Perform routine inspections, basic preventative maintenance, and thorough cleaning of machines, reporting equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime. Adhere to health, safety, and food safety procedures while maintaining a clean, organized environment and collaborating with colleagues across production and planning departments.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working within a manufacturing, production, or food production environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow procedures and work accurately under pressure
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Basic mechanical aptitude and confidence operating machinery
- Ability to perform physically active work and stand for extended periods
Desired Qualifications
- Experience operating automated packaging or processing equipment
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment
- Understanding of food safety, HACCP, and quality systems
- Experience conducting machine changeovers and basic fault finding
