Job Summary
The Automated Equipment Mechanic will provide multi-discipline capability to repair, maintain, install, and improve chemical processing equipment and machinery. Responsibilities include executing preventive maintenance, calibrating, and making adjustments using test equipment. Candidates must possess strong troubleshooting skills, have experience with mechanical repairs, and be familiar with electrical and control systems. A high level of expertise in chemical process equipment and safety practices, including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, is essential.
Required Qualifications
- HS diploma
- Formal instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, and/or AEM training and demonstrated experience
- Mechanical equipment repair training and/or demonstrated experience: pumps, mechanical seals, agitators, gear boxes, fans (bearings, sheaves), alignment
- Effective analytical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read electrical, instrument and machine drawings
- Ability to read PLC programs to troubleshoot equipment problems
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Excellent safety record
- Knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out
- Understanding of electrical codes for hazardous environments (flammable liquids)
- Good communication skills
- Good team player
