Job Summary
Design fire suppression systems including wet, dry, pre-action, and foam sprinkler systems. Perform detailed shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, and field engineering support on the jobsite. Compile plan and material submittals for review by architects, engineers, clients, and authorities having jurisdiction. Coordinate designs with building structures and MEP subcontractors. Prepare project material stock lists, assist with troubleshooting, and create as-built drawings for archives. Work during normal operating hours, meeting deadlines and following safety protocols. Base compensation ranges from $22 to $30 per hour, with overtime and weekend work as required.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years fire sprinkler design experience for construction
- Regular, reliable attendance
- Work overtime and weekends as required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with AutoSPRlNK, HydroCAD, or SprinkCAD
- NICET certification
- Experienced with MS Excel, Word, and AutoCAD
- High level of self-discipline, motivation, and ability to operate in a team environment with strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Team player, but able to work independently
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
- Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
- Associates degree in Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related degree
- 6+ years of experience in design and construction in lieu of degree
