Job Summary
Prepare auto parts for paint application by sanding, removing oils and debris, and taping off components. Assist in post-repair paint preparation, buff surfaces after drying, and correct defects on the finished product. Request necessary materials and maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area while wearing a respirator. This role requires 3+ years of experience, physical stamina for lifting up to 80 lbs, and the ability to read work orders. We provide state-of-the-art equipment and training as many preppers grow into painters within our collision repair business.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to wear a respirator
- Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel and pull
- Extended periods of kneeling, bending, and squatting to complete or inspect repairs
- Carry and lift heavy objects (up to 80lbs)
- Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate equipment
- Ability to read and understand basic instructions, written estimates, and work orders
- Ability to effectively communicate with others
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years experience as a paint prepper in an auto body shop preferred
- HS Diploma or GED, Auto Body Vo-Tech certification strongly preferred
