Job Summary
Direct and supervise 2-25 employees in sales, inventory, and customer service while managing purchasing, budgeting, and accounting functions. Provide exceptional customer service by taking orders in-person and by phone, monitoring sales activities, and generating new accounts through cold calling and customer visits. Grow store profits by suggesting new products and promotions, accurately stocking inventory, and instructing staff on handling difficult sales. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, run the store by performing subordinate duties as needed, and maintain call logs as required by the District Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- At least 2 years of auto parts experience
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
- Class E license
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Basic computer skills including familiarity with web browsing and the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
- Ability to occasionally sit, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
