Job Summary
Manage sales and profitability of the Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts retail store by supervising 2-25 associates in purchasing, budgeting, accounting, and personnel work. Provide over-the-counter direct sales, take in-person and phone orders, and promote sales programs to grow store profits. Direct daily operations including inventory management, cash reconciliation, and customer service while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Generate new sales accounts through cold calling and customer visits, instruct staff on complex sales, and handle hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Maintain call logs and attend required training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- At least 2 years of auto parts experience
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
- Class E license
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Basic computer skills including familiarity with web browsing and the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
- Ability to occasionally sit, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Close vision

- Ability to be frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- Ability to be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
- Ability to be exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock

- Post offer, pre-employment drug testing acceptance
