Job Summary
Conduct direct sales of aftermarket automotive parts, heavy-duty components, and body shop supplies while processing orders in-person and by phone. Assist customers with complex requests, determine needed parts, and resolve dissatisfied situations. Manage cash and credit transactions, handle core returns, and pull parts for orders. Train junior staff on parts knowledge, store processes, and transaction handling. Support end-of-day and end-of-month reporting, assist with store opening/closing, and coordinate delivery assignments. Maintain inventory, clean the facility, and comply with safety guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience or motivation to pursue a GED
- Previous professional automotive parts counter sales experience
- Ability to reconcile/balance accounting figures
- Prior leadership experience
- Independent decision making abilities
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Basic computer knowledge including web browsing and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license (Class E required for all Missouri locations)
