Job Summary
Conduct friendly, courteous over-the-counter direct sales to customers, taking orders in-person and by phone while promoting sales programs for aftermarket automotive replacement parts, auto paint, and body shop supplies. Research part availability through computer systems and catalogs, locate and pull parts for orders, and handle cash and credit transactions. Assist with inventory tasks including straightening stock, checking in items, and performing home store inventory if assigned. Mentor junior counter sales and delivery drivers when applicable. Open and close the store if given key holder responsibility, manage end-of-day processing with management, and prioritize delivery assignments to drivers. Maintain a neat appearance and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience or motivation to pursue a GED
- Valid driver's license (Class E required for all Missouri locations)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Basic computer knowledge including web browsing and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
- Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Close vision

- Post offer, pre-employment drug testing
Desired Qualifications
- Three to four years of professional automotive parts experience
- Over five years of hobbyist automotive parts experience
- Above average understanding of auto parts
