Job Summary
Provide friendly, over-the-counter direct sales to customers and take orders in-person and by phone. Research part availability through computer systems and catalogs, locate and pull parts for orders, and handle cash and credit transactions. Assist with inventory management by locating, pulling, checking in, and rearranging stock, while maintaining a clean and professional store environment. Mentor junior counter salespeople and delivery drivers as needed. Prioritize delivery assignments and manage core returns and paperwork. Open and close the store if assigned key holder responsibility, and assist with end-of-day processing.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience or motivation to pursue a GED
- Three to four years of professional automotive parts experience
- over five years of hobbyist automotive parts experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- basic computer knowledge including web browsing and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license (Class E required for all Missouri locations)
