Job Summary
Conduct over-the-counter direct sales to customers and take orders in-person and by phone. Assist in determining parts needed, locate and pull parts for orders, and tag orders for delivery. Process incoming inventory, put up stock, and handle cash and credit transactions while properly invoicing customer accounts. Clean and maintain the building area, including picking up trash, sweeping, and mopping. Learn RPI store systems and processes, complete assigned training programs, and research part availability through catalogs. Drive a vehicle safely in various conditions and perform any other tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- motivation to pursue a GED
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- basic computer knowledge including web browsing and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license (Class E required for all Missouri locations)
