Job Summary
As the instructor for the College Station ISD Career and Technical Education Center’s new Automotive Technology program, you will develop engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students while preparing them for industry certifications. Responsibilities include creating curriculum, maintaining an organized and safe lab environment, collaborating with local industry partners, and managing classroom budgets. Required qualifications include industry experience or a valid teaching certificate, along with strong knowledge of automotive systems and the ability to instruct students in various automotive topics.
Required Qualifications
- Industry experience in automotive services or a related field
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in relevant areas
- In-depth knowledge of automotive technology systems and repair techniques
- Understanding of current industry tools, safety standards, and diagnostic procedures
- Ability to instruct and manage students in classroom and shop environments
- Commitment to developing employability skills and a professional work ethic in students
Desired Qualifications
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications or the ability to obtain them
- Experience in automotive repair, diagnostics, or service management
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to acquire curriculum and instructional skills through district-provided training
- Enthusiasm for growing a new CTE program and connecting with local industry partners
