Job Summary
A Technician Trainee will be trained to become a Safelite-certified Auto Glass Technician. Responsibilities include observing and assisting in installing and repairing auto glass, recalibrating automotive safety systems, troubleshooting and completing diagnostic testing, providing additional services and products, and studying to pass testing to achieve Safelite certification. The role involves safely operating company vehicles and tools, performing tasks with a focus on timely, high-quality customer service, and adhering to safety and company policies during training and upon certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent Preferred
- Valid state-issued driver’s license to operate a company vehicle
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in tight spaces
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Willingness to work scheduled days with flexible start/end times
- Ability to read, write and interpret English and technical directions
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
