Job Summary
Technician Trainee will be trained to become a Safelite-certified Technician through hands-on and classroom training, including observing/assisting in auto glass installation and repair, recalibrating automotive safety systems, diagnostic testing, and providing additional services. Trainees study and pass tests to earn Safelite certification, with paid training, salary progression from $20.25/hour to $24/hour after training, potential promotion within first year, and a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) matching, medical plans, PTO, and tuition reimbursement. The role emphasizes customer service, safety, quality workmanship, and a positive, service-minded attitude, with responsibilities spanning glass installation/repair, recalibrations, and related duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent (Preferred)
- Valid state-issued driver's license to operate company vehicle
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read, write, and interpret English and technical directions
- Willingness to undergo training and certification process
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate customer needs
