Job Summary
Technician Trainee will be trained to become an auto glass technician and will receive Safelite SafeTech certification after completing the program. Responsibilities include observing and assisting in installing and repairing auto glass, recalibrating automotive safety systems, troubleshooting, completing diagnostic testing, providing additional services/products, and studying to become Safelite-certified with hands-on and classroom training. The role involves operating company vehicles and tools, maintaining professionalism, and delivering high-quality service to customers. Competitive pay starts at $20.25/hour with increases after training, plus comprehensive benefits and tuition reimbursement; potential for promotion after one year; training and resources provided.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Valid state-issued driver’s license to operate a company vehicle
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in tight spaces
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Ability to read, write and interpret English and technical directions
- Commitment to safety policies and PPE
- Willingness to complete Safelite training and achieve SafeTech certification
- Ability to pass testing and become Safelite-certified Technician
