Job Summary
A Technician Trainee will be trained to become a Safelite-certified Auto Glass Technician. Responsibilities include observing and assisting with auto glass installation and repair, recalibrating automotive safety systems, conducting diagnostic testing, providing related services and products, and studying to achieve Safelite certification. You will operate company vehicles and tools, follow safety protocols, and contribute to timely, high-quality customer service while learning through hands-on and classroom training. This is a full-time training role based in Danbury, CT, with a pathway to professional technician status upon certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent Preferred
- Valid state-issued driver’s license to operate a company vehicle
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in tight spaces
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
- Ability to read, write and interpret English and technical directions
- Ability to learn and pass Safelite certification training
