Job Summary
Trainee will be trained to become an auto glass technician through hands-on and classroom instruction, observing and assisting with installing and repairing auto glass, recalibrating automotive safety systems, and completing diagnostic testing. Will study and pass testing to become Safelite-certified, with responsibilities including selling additional services/products, maintaining a professional appearance, operating company vehicles and tools safely, and delivering high-quality customer service while meeting safety standards. The role emphasizes paid training, Benefits package, tuition reimbursement, and path to certification, with duties spanning hands-on installation, recalibration, problem-solving, and collaboration to ensure timely, accurate glass repair and replacement.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent preferred
- Valid state-issued driver’s license
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in tight spaces
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and comply with laws
- Willingness to undergo training and certification to Safelite SafeTech
- Ability to read, write, and understand English and technical directions
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Willingness to work varied schedules to accommodate customer needs
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
