Job Summary
Tech trainee in auto glass installation, trained to become a Safelite-certified Technician. You will be paid to learn through hands-on and classroom training, observing/assisting in installing and repairing auto glass, recalibrating automotive safety systems, performing diagnostic testing, providing additional services, studying to pass testing, and operating company vehicles and tools. The program leads to Safelite SafeTech certification and includes paid training, competitive weekly pay starting at $20.25/hour (rising to $24.00/hour after training), incentive pay for wiper blade sets, a comprehensive benefits package, tuition reimbursement, and opportunities for growth within a large national auto-glass provider.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent Preferred
- Valid state-issued driver’s license to operate a company vehicle
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in tight spaces
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with laws
- Willingness to be monitored via in-cab vehicle safety camera/video surveillance
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English and technical directions
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Professional appearance and adherence to dress code and PPE policies
- Willingness to work varied start/end times to accommodate customer needs
- Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions
- Knowledge of Safelite Way of Fitting and safety protocols
- Ability to perform other related duties as assigned
- Capacity to study and pass testing to become Safelite-certified Technician
- Ability to learn and apply calibration and diagnostic tools
